• Disappointed with Matt Fiddes Marital Arts

  Is it about the money? Well I will let you decide… My son went for 18 months, costing �£30 per month, then when he graded and passed his orange belt he had to have the sparring protection otherwise “he was not covered under Matt Fiddes Insurance”, this cost and extra �£123 for full protection. Plus an additional cost of �£45 to grade every time. Compare this to a standard karate class who charge �£2 per session! Now 18 months on, my son achieved his blue belt, by hard work and remembering his philosophies, but what I found hard to understand was that all students passed their grading, even through some (around 6 out of 18 in the class) could NOT remember the hand drills or their philosophies, how come these who obviously hadn’t the skill get the same results as someone who did – cause you are “buying their belts”. We moved to another area in the UK and put several calls in to Matt Fiddes head office with no response, so I contacted my sons old instruction who got the area director to contact me, he informed me that due to the school being a mixed martial art my son where ever he goes will have to start at white belt again!!!! In conclusion, I would recommend that anyone considering a Matt Fiddes School look at other alternatives as the senior management support is non existent and the school is only interested in the money. My son now is so disappointed because he cannot understand or comprehend why he has to start again and he feels as though he has wasted the past 18 months with the Matt Fiddes School.
