About Us

Brief description

The Acorn Community Nursery is a non-profit organization ideally located for your convinience on the Daresbury expressway. Situated on the site of Astmoor Primary School as part of the Castlefileds Children's Centre. The nursery is registered for up to 70 children between the ages of 0-5 years providing full day care. The Pre-school children are entitled to free childcare sessions for 15 hours per week over 38 weeks per year in accordance with Government guidelines. We also provide after schools care for 5-11 year olds linking to four schools within the locality. Astmoor Primary School The Park Primary School, St Augustines Catholic Primary School and St Marys Church of England Primary School. The setting boasts really competitive rates and gives flexibility to each family and their individual needs. We operate an open door policy and approachable staff are happy to welcome you into our setting. Pre-registration vists are available prior to your child securing a place these vists are encouraged and parents are welcome to stay.

Any Specialist Products or Services?

The setting gained an excellant OFTED report in October 2008 closely followed by The Healthy Eating Award. In June 2009 we acheived the "I CAN" accreditation which promotes language and communication using various methods. The setting currently has 3 Special Educational Needs Officers (SENCO) who are able to offer extra support, help and advice to practitioners, children and thier families if necessary.
